Batman Incorporated - The New 52
As predicted, this issue got a much higher rating from fans and critics than the previous issue. When you have a masterful story telling like Grand Morrison at the helm, he doesn’t necessarily focus on things in an issue-by-issue basis, so there will be some snoozers every now and then, which is kind of tough when you’re anticipating each week’s issue but makes perfect sense when you’re reading a trade paperback collection of multiple books. This series was originally postponed from launching with the rest of the The New 52 because some of the material was insensitive after the shootings in Colorado, America. Also, there were other Batman books at launch so it’s not like fans would be left without their favorite hero. An honorable move by DC, certainly, but now it’s time to get things back in full swing…
Characters In The New 52 Batman Inc Issue 3
This issue has 31 characters credited, so we’re not going to list them all. Rather than rattle off a bunch of names, suffice to say that all the main characters are here with plenty of surprises and special appearances by some of Gotham’s best (and meanest) foes, along with some friendly faces too. You’ll just have to pick up this issue and see for yourself, this week we’re not going to ruin any of the surprises.
Summary Of The New 52 Batman Incorporated Issue 3 "The Hanged Man"
Someone has been trying to kill Damian, and this issue brings Batman closer to finding out who it is. By taking on the identity of one of his foes, Bruce Wayne is able to uncover some intelligence about who is responsible, and that’s bad news for them. Will Batman reconsider some of his policies about killing people when his own son’s life is in danger? Damian gets grounded, but that doesn’t stop him from creating a new identity called Redbird. He uses gas on Alfred to allow himself to escape the manor, which is sure to cause Bruce Wayne to become very angry.
Notes About this issue
- Things are really picking up, tensions are high, and we can’t wait to see what happens in the next issue.
- Fans and critics loved this issue, and for good reason. It pushes forward the story, and we get to see Batman doing some detective work. These are detective comics, after all.
Creators Of The Hanged Man
Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham continue their excellent collaboration, but this week we’re going to be featuring the letterer in this comic. Letterers deserve a lot of credit, if the words aren’t pleasant to read and don’t fit the tone and style of the book, you’re going to have a bad time. The lettered in this book is Pat Brosseau. There isn’t a ton of information on Pat, however his work speaks for itself. He has over 1600 issues to his name, including Wolverine, Legionnaires, Doctor Strange, Trinity, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Green Arrow, Wonder Man, Batman and Robin and many, many more.
