Batman Arkham Origins Multiplayer in all its glory

News About:

When Batman Arkham Asylum came out in 2009, it opened many people's eyes to just how great a super hero video game really could be. Games based around existing super hero franchises aren't always well received, see Superman on Nintendo 64 as the prime example.

The Arkham franchise has managed to become known as the template that all future super hero games were based off of. Every now and then a game comes along and you can clearly see it's influence on everything that comes after it. Arkham City followed up the first game and stayed true to form, and the upcoming Batman Arkham Origins is perhaps the most highly anticipated game of 2013.

Batman Arkham Origins Multiplayer
It's no surprise, then, that people are very excited about the announcement of the multiplayer feature in Arkham Origins. The game is set to launch in October of 2013, so it's still a ways away, but fans can get an early sneak peak thanks to the Multiplayer Beta. We'll talk more about the beta in a moment, but for now let's take a look at what we already know about the multiplayer mode, and what players can expect to see.

- Perhaps the most exciting thing about this upcoming multiplayer mode is the fact that you'll be able to play as the bad guys. Many notorious villains of Gotham will return to try their luck at stopping the Dark Knight, but will their tricks and schemes be enough?
-Gamers will have the chance to team up as Batman and Robin, fighting side by side.
- At their disposal will be numerous gizmos and gadgets for both characters, some familiar for fans of the movies and comic books and some all-new inventions.
- The Batman Arkham Origins multiplayer trailer highlights just one map, but the incredible size and diversity of this map is something to be very excited for if it's any reflection on the rest of the game.

Batman Arkham Origins Multiplayer Beta
Warner Brothers has recently started sending out invitations to the Batman Arkham Origins Multiplayer Beta. There are not a lot of details yet, but the beta is expected to launch as early as August 7th. The lucky chosen ones will have a chance to try out this hugely anticipated game before anyone else. It's too early to say whether they'll have full access to everything in the beta, or if certain characters, maps and weapons will be locked-off. Either way, these beta testers are surely in for a treat!
